Fishing is still on at Hooked on Panama Lodge. This week we had John Hanks with Bill, Jason, Tobey and Brent. They were fishing with Captain Carlos and Captain Chaka. The Marlin bite continues. Released 5 and lost several more. 8 Sails total, but raised a ton more and lost a few. 5 Dorados and one of them was a beast.

The Season has started and we had Colleen Gallagher, Terry Moss, Austin and Jeff spear divers from Diving for a Cause who delivered 90 lbs of donations of sports equipment and school supplies for their future 2020 April trip. They shot some Dorado and saw some Yellow Fin Tuna that was moving too fast to shoot.

Our season is slowly coming to a close, but don’t let that fool anyone on the fishing 🙂 Last week we had Bob, Teri and Tommy Grossman from California. Bob had some bucket list items. One was a Rooster fish. On their first day, they released 10 by 10AM.

There was a smorgasbord of fish caught. They had too many yellow fin tunas to count no monsters but a good 70 to 80 lb. average with some mahi mahi, pargos, sailfish, mullet snappers and groupers mixed in We also had good action on the rooster fish around 20 with about 15 averaging 30lbs.

The Marlin bite was a bit slow a good amount was raised but not many releases. The Dorado and Yellow Fin Tuna made up for it and on the inshore so did the Roosters. The Meyers knocked out their Rooster Bucket list with six releases.

I forgot something that was supposed to be in my last report. It was the Baxter group. They got off the boat one afternoon and asked if I knew what a Turducken was. I replied of course, but why? So the story was, they had a Mahi Mahi eat a bonito bait, then a big Black Marlin ate the Mahi Mahi. They called it a Marmahinito 🙂
