FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
|
What should I bring for my trip?
- Bring your passport, extra photo I.D., sunglasses, a hat, long-sleeve breathable fishing shirts, sunscreen, bug spray, boat shoes or sandals, camera, film, light rain jacket or wind breaker, tennis shoes, bathing suit, shorts, & plenty of t-shirts. There are also stores nearby where you can purchase anything you might need.
What kind of fish are available to catch?
- Common fish available: Pacific Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Dorado, Yellow-fin Tuna, Wahoo, & Grouper, Roosterfish, Horse-eye Jack, Pacific Black Snook, Tarpon, Corbina, Cubera Snapper, Blue Trevally, Jack Crevalle, African Pompano, Sierra Mackerel, Mullet Snapper plus many others.

How much money should I bring?
- That is really up to you. You will need money for tips and gratuity, premium alcohol and beer (if desired), any food or beverages purchased outside of the lodge and extra money for souvenirs. You should bring traveler’s checks or American dollars. Panama uses American currency, so no exchange is necessary, though it is difficult for many stores to break a $100 bill.
Reaching Punta Burica is easy
- The closest main city of David and it's airport are only about a 1.5 hour ride away. There is also an excellent airstrip 15 min. away in the town of Puerto Armuelles for possible charter flights from David or Panama City.
