Fishing Report for February 12th

Hello everyone from Hooked on Panama Lodge.

Another great report from the week ending on Feb. 12th.

Had a group of four guys fishing two boats.  Jim Forzley and Bryan Enseleit, fishing with Captain Chaka and his mate Carlos.  Plus, Randy Wood and Wilson Spencer, fishing with Captain Victor and his mate Jacinto.  Three days fishing produced some great numbers.

On Jim and Bryan’s boat, They raised a total of 17 sails, releasing 7.  Only one dorado.  And, hooked 4 marlin, but not a clean release on one.  Rubber hooks again, I guess:)

Randy and Wilson only spent a little time blue water fishing, because they were killing it inshore.  In the time they were blue water fishing, about 2 half days, raised 12 sails, but only released 3, and one nice dorado.  Now, nearshore, lost count of the Cubera Snappers.  One of them was a beast at 46lbs.  They got grouper, roosters, blue runners, green jacks, blue jacks, etc.  They said they had 11 species of fish on this trip.  Sweet.

We had whole fried snapper one night for appetizers. A little fresh squeezed lime juice and, OMG:)  One of the other boats fishing with Greg and Dennis Pawlak, got into some real nice yellow fins on their first day.  Sashimi, shushi and Chef Margot’s famous seared tuna.  We have been eating good.

I’ll have another report in a couple of days when Greg and Dennis finish up their stay.

Until then, tight lines.
