Fishing Report December 31, 2018

It was an epic week at Hooked on Panama Lodge. This is from Christmas week.

We had Weedie and Susan Sweet plus the whole family and some guy we called, The Boyfriend:) Just joking.  Also had Cecil and Arlene Hammond.  The whole fleet was out and it was another week of all Texans.  I think the state of Texas is starting to kick some people out:)

We got 5 Black Marlin, 4 in one day and had shots at several more.  Plenty Sail Fish. Lost count of the Dorados, and you got to check out the photo below of Captain Carlos (AKA Matagato ).  That is the biggest Dorado we have seen.  Lots of Roosters, Snappers and even a handful of small Yellow Fin tuna. The sashimi and seared tuna appetizers were off the charts.  You got to love Margot the chef extraordinaire:)

So much for fishing on the full moon.  I never really agreed with the philosophy of bad fishing during the full moon, but it was as full as it gets and the fishing rocked.  The moon rises were also epic for several days.  Blood red as it came up over the horizon.

Great fun was had by all and everyone is already planning their next trip.  I think Cecil and Arlene want to come stay for a month:)

We have another couple leaving today, another couple starting fishing today and I’ll have another report coming soon.

For those of you our there that have said you can drop everything and come on down while the bite is on, well, it’s on.  Got a small amount of open spots for January.  February is pretty much full.
